Qld: Health hotline 'exceeds expectations' one year on
The Queensland Government says a hotline for people to speak to nurses about their
health concerns has exceeded expectations.
Health Minister STEPHEN ROBERTSON says the statewide 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) hotline
has helped more than 145 thousand callers since it started a year ago.
13 HEALTH is a 24 hour a day .. seven day a week service providing clinically-based
triage advice from a nurse and health service information for the cost of a local call.
It's aimed at freeing up stretched hospital emergency wards from people with conditions
which are able to be treated by GPs.
