NSW: Avalon s noisy anti Baywatch group overwhelms meeting

Baywatch producers remain determined to film on Sydney's northern beaches, despite a large
and very vocal meeting last night of locals opposed to the show.

A two-and-a-half-hour meeting held in an Avalon hall drew 1,700 attendees -- one fifth of
the tiny town's population.

Although Baywatch producer GREG BONNAN had given the Anti-Baywatch Action Group an
undertaking to abandon his controversial plans to film the series on Avalon Beach,
participants say he left last night's meeting determined to carry through with the move.
